Huang Shanshan: a Pioneer Striving for the
Gold
Huang Shanshan made a great coup in the 1997 national trampoline
championship winning the gold medal. She won a bronze medal in Athens for China
Trampoline Team's debut in the O
lympic Games.
Sent to the Gym due to her fighting problem
A tender and virtuous mother and a quiet father gave birth to a naughty
daughter. The girl was Huang Shanshan. Talking about the fun events in
childhood, Huang Shanshan proudly said: "You know, nobody could beat me in the
fight at that time. Great, wasn't I!"
As dad and mom were not able to make her behave, she was sent to a sports
kindergarten to take up gymnastics. In 1998, she started to practice trampoline,
a then rare-known sport item.
It seemed just a flash but ten years passed. As for her decision to change
item, Huang Shanshan explained: "There are simply too many excellent gymnasts in
China. After training for so many years, changing for a new item means more
opportunities for me."
Gymnastics training for Ten Years
Trampoline was not the first item of Huang Shanshan's sport career. When
her parents brought the two-and-a-half-year-old girl to Fuzhou Sports School,
she fell in love with gymnastics immediately. As she saw elder boys and girls
somersaulting on the mattress, she wouldn't leave. The gymnastics training had
lasted for Ten Years
However, there were not many performances worthy of mentioning except
injuries in the ten years. When Fujian Province was setting up the trampoline
team, former gymnastic coach Zhuo Xianlin was appointed coach and he chose Huang
Shanshan on the first sight.
Computer Games Are Her Favorite
What does a 21-year-old girl like to do? Buying clothes, talking about
cosmetics, and so on, but our "internet genius" Huang Shanshan is somewhat
different. Her favorite hobby is to play computer games, which is usually boys'
preference.
"Hey, do you also play "Romance of the immortal sword players 2"? We should
find a time to compare notes." she was suddenly brightened and said, when she
learnt that the reporter was a fan of this computer game. This game had been her
best-love ever since it was issued. "I used to have a 90th grade number named
Fire Siren. It took me a lot of time and energy. But now I have started a new
number. I shall continue to work hard on it." She said with a smile.
To what extend does our "internet genius" addict to the computer game?
"There is no match this afternoon, so I've been playing all afternoon!" was her
answer.
